The main feature of the Toad for Oracle software.I would imagine this comment will be lost with time, but if anyone has other suggestions, please forward. I don't know, maybe I have not given them much of an opportunity, but none of them were as intuitive as that old version of Toad. I have tried dbeaver, dbvisualizer, and squirrelsql. Admittedly, sql developer is much improved. I also used the session browser from time to time.Įverything I have tried thus far is just terribly cumbersome in comparison. The schema browser in Toad was also quite nice (drop downs which filter instead of a never ending tree). What I want is a stable application which I can run multiple different sql/pl/dml/ddl statements within the same file, run the current statement by hitting ctl-enter, allow sloppy formatted sql (empty line equates as a ' '), be able to quickly pass the file to an external editor, recognize when a file has updated, arrow moves the cursor and ctl-arrow scrolls the page, and a simple export to file functionality. I recently moved to a 64 bit os, so I have been trying a few. I tried upgrading a few times, but it just got worse and worse, so I had corporate drop the maintenance since they lost my trust with upgrading. That version is like the last stable version I tried before it really became finicky and just plain bloat. I have been using an older version of Toad (9.7.2.5) or lower for many years. I was just going to submit a similar post.
